Noemi G. made changes to her landscape in 2020 to reduce her water bill and help the city save water.

Noemi recruited her daughter to help her replace her thirsty front yard with small palms, Everlasting Palms, Aloe Vera and King’s Sword. The strategic use of rocks, pavers and mulch with the new plants add variety and texture to the landscape. Noemi uses greywater from her washing machine to irrigate. In addition to reducing the water use for the landscape, this alternate water source means she no longer needs to maintain traditional irrigation devices and ensures sustainable water use year-round.
